ACTS 9 began with a simple belief: that a cup made with care can change a whole day.

The beginning

We opened our doors in Colombo to share matcha the way we fell in love with it in Japan: vivid, grassy-sweet, and whisked fresh in front of you. No shortcuts, no powders from a tin sitting open for months. Just good matcha, treated with respect.

The matcha

First harvest,
from Nishio.

Our matcha comes from Nishio, Japan, one of the country's oldest matcha regions. We use only first-harvest (ichibancha) leaves, stone-ground into a fine, brilliant-green powder with deep umami and natural sweetness. It is the difference you taste in every sip.

How we make it

Matcha sifted and whisked by hand with a bamboo chasen until smooth and frothy.

Layered over milk and ice, with cold foam and syrups made fresh in-house.
